Pros & Cons of Monopoly Plus
- Good thing
- Bad thing
Have you ever played Monopoly? Even if you never did, you certainly must’ve heard of it. In a very rare chance that you’ve never ever heard of Monopoly (which seems to be close to impossible though)
Have you ever played Monopoly? Even if you never did, you certainly must’ve heard of it. In a very rare chance that you’ve never ever heard of Monopoly (which seems to be close to impossible though) - it’s an extremely famous board game. The players have to run their business without going into bankruptcy, earn as much money as possible, and crush their opponents. So, it’s fair to say that the game basically teaches you how does it feel to be a businessman.
Monopoly Plus is just like that regular board game but upgraded to be played online. It was published by a French game developer Asobo Studio together with Ubisoft in 2014. It’s available for PS 3 and 4, Windows, Xbox 360, Nintendo Switch, and Xbox One platforms. Monopoly Plus can be downloaded as part of the Monopoly Family Fun Pack.
How does it work?
The rules are the same as in the board version. The player has to roll the dice, buy properties, build hotels and try to bankrupt other players. You can either play with someone beside you, compete with Al, or find a matching player online. There can be two to six players in a game.
The visuals are quite simple. You’ll be able to choose out of 2 board types: the classic board which looks like the one from the original game, and the living board, where all the objects on the map are animated. The “living” version might make you feel like you are actually moving around a real city. Depending on which language you choose while starting the game, you’ll also see the properties and streets having a name relevant to the country. That’s it! If you know the rules of classic Monopoly, there is no need to explain further.
Overall, Monopoly plus is probably one of the most playable digital versions of the original game up to now. If you are a Monopoly lover and want to take it to the next level, this game is just the right option as it totally brings the classic board game’s rules online. You might also enjoy such online board games as The Train Ticket, Roll20, or Settlers of Catan.
