The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is a role-playing video game developed by CD Projekt.
It came out in 2015 and was based on a famous novel series “The Witcher” written by Andrzej Sapkowski. The Witcher 3, as comes from its’ name, was preceded by “The Witcher” and “The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings”. However, out of 3 games, only the Wild Hunt was a particular success that earned multiple “Game of the Year” awards. It’s available on Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch platforms.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt gameplay:
As already said, the gameplay is based on the novel series and is set in a land called The Continent. The main character - Geralt of Rivia, is also known as The Wicher. He travels across the lands, killing all kinds of monsters in exchange for some pocket money. You’ll meet literally dozens of different monsters trying to kill you at any moment, although, in this game, Geralt’s main purpose is to find his missing daughter. She has some kind of magic powers and, thus, is running from the Wild Hunt - mysterious force that rides across the sky and sometimes captures innocent people.
Witcher can fight using several techniques - swords, alchemy, and signs. All three are important and, make sure, you are paying attention to your alchemy tabs and check for the available potion recipes. The potions, oils, and bombs can be very useful in battle, but, to make one, you need to find the ingredients first. Get a habit of picking up and stealing everything you can find during your travels, but do not steal in front of guards unless you want trouble. You can also use potions to restore your health during the battle. The other way to recover is meditation or food, so always have something saved in the consumables slot.
Another thing you might want to use to win a fight is the signs. The signs are kind of simple magic with each of them serving a different purpose. Eventually, you’ll learn how to use them in a battle but try to spend some time and check them out in advance. Some of the signs serve as shields, while others can burn or slow your enemies down.
The Witcher 3 is an open-world game. You can spend hours and hours exploring the lands and still be far from covering the map. The game also allows you to choose a difficulty level and change it as often as you want while playing. Depending on the decisions you take through the game, there are 36 possible endings. The Continent is full of stuff to see, do, or loot, so make sure to explore and enjoy every bit of it. Read the message boards in any village you visit; engage in missions, even the easy ones; and finally, don’t forget to collect whatever is left of the monster you kill and sell it! Make yourself feel like a real Geralt of Rivia - a monster slayer!
